Hi,
I'ld like to know as I must build (Or to buy if exist) a best and secure
interface to connect the serial port of my notebool with the port (jack)
of my Sony portable radio receiver (SW receiving on AM-SSB from 150 khz
to 29,900 mhz ) to receive RTTY and mereofax from my sailing boat
during navigation.

What program are you using for the conversion ? There are programs that
will decode rtty off the sound card and one called the hamcom interface
that will work off the serial port. Do a search for hamcom (could be
hamcomm) There are some interfaces already made, but it is a very simple
circuit that is in the hamcom files.

I am not familiar with the fax program but the hamcom will do several
fax and slow scan tv programs.

Hi all

I have been following the link to Download Ia.n.i.!!! It's free! and have been
dissappointed everytime. As a network administrator and computer hacker I would
of
course be interested in this tool, provided it runs on a 80586 Windows 95
system.

Is this just a bit of lousy mail on the reflector or does it exist?Everytime I
have
gone to the site I get a message that the site has been disconnected.Does
anyone have
this utility or is it spam?I notice the sender has an incorrect email address
as well
and I do not want to try and send such a lamer an email for fear of messing up
my own
system on the emails return.

Just my 2c worth

Subject: Do you acknowledge SWL reports?

Hi there,

Apologies for the bandwidth. I'm constructing a list of stations who do and
do
not acknowledge SWL cards, so fellow SWLs know who to, and who not to bother
sending to.

If you either do, or don't please send me your callsign and I'll include it in
my database. If you do ackowledge them, but only do so direct, or whatever,
please include those details too.

The information will be made available on my web site.
TIA es vy 73 to you all - PLEASE only replies to my e-mail address,

Subject: Free Web Server w/ Source

I thought this might interest a few people in this newsgroup.
A company called GoAhead Software has created a web server
and is making its source code available for FREE over the net.
Designed mainly for embedded applications, the server runs out
of the box under Unix, QNX, WinNT, Win98, WinCE, Linux, and a
few other OS's. There's an article about it in the Oct 99 Circuit
Cellar magazine, which gave it good reviews..... even when running
on some fairly minimal hardware.

The only stipulation to this FREE software is that you register
before downloading it, and if you use it in an application or modify
it, they want you to let them know all about it.

You can register and download the software at:
     http://www.goahead.com/webserver/wsregister.htm

Please note that I'm not associated with GoAhead in any way.
I saw the article and thought that since there seems to be some
interest among this ng in running native/tcpip applications over
packet, then maybe someone might use this free software to
create a cool packet application that we all might enjoy.
